    George Nicholson

    Composer Biography

    George Nicholson gained his first degree at York University and went on to pursue a doctorate in composition, studying with Bernard Rands and David Blake, graduating in 1979. He is Reader and Director of Composition at Sheffield University where he has been a senior lecturer in composition since 1996.

    Darkness Visible is a piece for bass clarinet and piano, it was written without commission and had its UK premiere at the Djanogly Recital Hall, Nottingham University on the 23 November 2012. The performers were Sarah Watts and Antony Clare.
