CELEBRATING THE ART OF CONTEPORARY MUSIC COMPOSITION

ABOUT BASCA

BASCA, the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors, is one of the largest professional associations for music writers and exists to support, protect and campaign for the interests of British songwriters, lyricists and composers in the United Kingdom, as well as the EU.

We are an entirely self funding, not-for-profit membership organisation and reply on the continuing support of our members to carry on our work.

We split our members into standard members, professional members, friends of BASCA and digital members who all pay an annual membership fee to help fund the organisation.

BASCA’s mission statement is; ’BASCA exists to support and protect the artistic, professional, commercial and copyright interests of songwriters, lyricists and composers of all genres of music to celebrate and encourage excellence in British music writing’.

BASCA Fellows: John Adams, David Arnold, Malcolm Arnold, John Barry, Don Black, Pierre Boulez, John Dankworth, David Ferguson, George Fenton, Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, Robin Gibb, Elton John, Annie Lennox, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Paul McCartney, Peter Maxwell Davies and Tim Rice.
